Alex Torres (b. 1983, San Juan, Puerto Rico) grew up surrounded by art, guided by his painter and master silkscreen artist father, Eduardo Torres Soto. Inspired early by drawing, painting, sculpture, and even his grandfather’s tattoos, he pursued studies at the Universidad de Puerto Rico and Escuela de Artes Plásticas, participating in student shows and collaborative projects with the Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico.
After freelancing as a children’s book illustrator and graphic designer, Torres moved to Miami in 2005, working as a sculptor and model maker before beginning a tattoo apprenticeship under Rafael Serrano in 2007. Since then, he has worked in numerous studios, attended international tattoo conventions, and held guest spots across the U.S. and abroad.
